This is a direct service position offered by Way Station, Inc., requiring general knowledge of mental health and specific knowledge and skill in crisis resolution and rehabilitation with persons with psychiatric disabilities.   The job involves the assumption of primary responsibility for the smooth operation of the program and for implementing treatment plans for individuals. This is a non-exempt (hourly) position. The Facilitator is supervised by the Site Supervisor.

Position Requirements: Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

Ability to implement a plan of care in both structured and unstructured settings.

Ability to make therapeutic decisions affecting individual in an autonomous manner.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

Ability to balance the needs and wishes of an individual with the needs of others.

Ability to establish and maintain empowering, trust relationships with WSI participants which reflect appropriate boundaries.

Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Knowledge of psychotropic medications and the ability to effectively communicate this knowledge.

Ability to accurately identify the need for consultation.

Ability to assess individuals and their environments for health, safety, security and organization in crisis situations.

Knowledge of psychiatric rehabilitation concepts.

Knowledge of the principles of crisis intervention.

Willingness and ability to examine one's own behavior, feelings and attitudes to facilitate a productive relationship with consumers, providers, administrators and citizens throughout the County.

Interest in working with persons with serious mental illness and understanding of the unique nature of complicated transitions of care.

Availability to work evening and overnight shifts.

Position Requirements: Education and Experience

Possession of a high school diploma.

Two years positively referenced, preferably relevant, work experience.

Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Possession or use of a four passenger car to be used to transport Way Station individual and a copy of a valid certificate of automobile insurance.

Conditions of Employment

Employee must be able to perform the duties of the job description as verified by a physician's statement and the employee's health statement.


Promote effective relationships among individuals, families and service providers.

Instruct, schedule, and share household tasks with residents, e.g. household budgeting, shopping, indoor and outdoor chores, cooking and other daily living activities.

Document shift contact note on individuals being served.                      

Implement RCS treatment plans for and with assigned individuals.                                              

Assist assigned individuals in monitoring medications.

Promote and insure the health safety and security, organization, and home like atmosphere of the crisis house.

Provide transportation for individuals.

Participate in WSI committees and program planning as assigned.

Implement crisis intervention actions as appropriate. 

Perform other duties as assigned.



Thursday - Saturday 10pm-8am
