Must be LCSW-C, current MD license.  Must be able to emergency petition.  This is a direct service position offered by Way Station, Inc., requiring specific knowledge of mental health, and skills in crisis intervention and stabilization.  This position involves the assumption of primary responsibility for response to crisis calls that require face-to-face intervention. The individual is expected to exercise independent judgment under the supervision of the program manager.  The individual must also be able to provide some supervision and clinical consultation to WSI direct service staff. 

Position Requirements: Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • Working knowledge of crisis intervention principles and techniques.
  • Ability to assess crisis situations for safety and security.
  • Ability to provide goal-oriented crisis intervention stabilization.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric rehabilitation concepts.
  • Ability to perform mental health assessments, and assist clients with the development and implementation of stabilization plans.
  • Knowledge of available community agencies and resources that support individuals with stabilization.
  • Ability to establish and maintain empowering, trust relationships with clients, while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, and as well as members of community agencies.
  • Ability to accurately identify the need for consultation and back-up support.
  • Ability to independently make therapeutic decisions which may affect clients or coworkers.
  • Knowledge of the emergency petition process.  
Position Requirements:  Education and Experience
  • Must be LCSW-C with current MD license.
  • Possession of a master's degree in social work
  • Current Maryland license LCSW-C
  • Positively referenced, relevant work experience.
  • Personal vehicle, valid driver's license, clean driving record, current auto insurance
