Part-Time: 30 hours a week

This is a specialized staff position in the Transition Age Youth (TAY) program of Way Station, Inc. Primary responsibilities are to assist Transition Age Youth (TAY) with serious emotional disturbances by providing a wide variety of support services designed to improve successful transitions for youth, ages 16 to 25 in the areas of employment, education, living situation and mental health services. Provide active support to young adults to ensure the continuity of planning, services, and supports. This is a non-exempt position under the supervision of the TAY Specialist.  

Position Requirements: Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills

  • Knowledge of strategies related to "joining" with families.
  • Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn strategies for intervening with families in crisis.
  • Ability to connect families and youth with a variety of community resources.
  • Ability to problem-solve independently and demonstrate initiative.
  • Ability to work effectively with others as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Willingness and ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to participate in training and educational experiences which advance knowledge and skill in providing services of youth and behavioral and emotional disorders.
  • Ability to demonstrate organization and time management skills.
  • Basic understanding of Evidenced Based Supportive Employment (EBSE) and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT).
  • Ability to project good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish goals, structures and processes necessary to implement a mission and strategic vision.
  • Ability to network, interact, and support effective partnerships with key groups.
  • Ability to operate current computer systems, including relevant software packages.  

Professional Requisites: Education and Experience

  • Two years' experience with TAY in an educational or social service setting and/or general vocational knowledge.
  • Bachelor's Degree or AA in the human service or related field preferred.
  • Valid full driver's license (cannot be provisional status); safe driving record.
  • Possession of a four passenger vehicle and be willing to transport clients in personal vehicle.
  • Must be able to pass driving record and background checks.
